Komica McElrath – Author, Ministry Leader, Business Professional

A passionate author, ministry leader, and business professional whose life and work are deeply rooted in faith, purpose, and service. A native of Dyersburg, Tennessee, and a long-time resident of Memphis, Komica is a proud mother and grandmother—roles she cherishes deeply and which have significantly shaped her life’s calling.

She is the founder of The I AM Ministries, a Christ-centered organization dedicated to equipping and empowering women to walk in their divine purpose by knowing who they are in Christ. Through spiritual coaching, practical teaching, and community support, Komica helps women uncover and activate their God-given gifts for His glory. She has also ministered internationally and is expanding her global reach through a new initiative, Common Good Global, which she recently added to her ministry.

Komica is the author of a children’s book series designed to help young readers apply God’s Word in real, relatable ways. Inspired by teaching her grandson, this series brings the Fruit of the Spirit to life for children navigating today’s world. Her work reflects her heart to disciple the next generation through love, truth, faith, and Godly principles. Additionally, the creator of W.O.W. (Walk on Water) Wednesday, a weekly publication that offers a midweek boost of faith, hope, inspiration, and her personal prayer for the reader. She is also a co-contributor to the anthology Partnering and Parting with the Practiced Husband: From Practiced to Promised, which encourages women to wait for their promised husband.

In addition to her ministry and writing, Komica has built a dynamic career in business and workforce development. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration (cum laude) from LeMoyne-Owen College and has served as a Senior Talent Acquisition Professional, Project Leader, and Administrative Coordinator. She has led initiatives for several high-level organizations and is known for her expertise in customer service, event management, workforce management, project coordination, and coaching individuals toward long-term success.

Whether she is writing books, leading women, or managing projects, Komica brings a spirit of excellence, compassion, and purpose to all she does, all for the glory of God.
